When the Parish Life group prepares a meal we can count on more than two or three. We usually serve from sixty to eighty, so we are blessed many times over! The church calendar includes a number of major events. We provide food for the Lenten dinners, the Parish Picnic, Rally Sunday, Parish Christmas Party, Mardi Gras, Advent dinners, and for various other occasions. We set up for the meal, and decorate for special occasions, serve the food, and clean up. We try to be mindful of the various tastes in the congregation, and try to prepare a variety of dishes so everyone can be included.
We have a number of young families and every effort is made to offer foods that young children can enjoy. When we shop for food, we look for the best prices so that dinners are affordable. Often, there is no charge, as parish members donate their time and cooking talents to further support St. Luke's family.
One of the main things we try to do in Parish Life is to have great fun and fellowship. We believe we accomplish this goal consistently and it is with joyful hearts we offer this ministry to Christ and St. Luke's family.
